#1. Experienced Francisco Cruz (6'4''-G-1989, played in 2010-12, plays pro in Turkey) could not help Mersin Spor (2-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Mersin Spor lost 78-87 at home to the much higher-ranked (#3) Fenerbahce. Cruz was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 3 passes in 27 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Cruz has relatively good stats this year 13.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.8apg in six games he played so far.
#2. Hayden Dalton (6'9''-PF-1996, played in 2015-18, plays in Russia) was the major contributor in Uralmash's victory against the closely-ranked Parma-Pari (5-4) 88-87 in the VTB United League last Friday. He scored 18 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Uralmash Yekaterinburg (5-4) is placed sixth in the VTB United League. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Dalton has relatively good stats this year 11.7ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.8apg.
#3. Mason Walters (6'9''-F-2001, played in 2023-24, currently in Switzerland) led Starwings to a 1-point victory over the closely-ranked Pully (3-3) 76-75 in the Swiss SBL on Friday night. Walters was MVP of the game. He scored 29 points (!!!) and grabbed 6 rebounds in 40 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Walters' second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Starwings Basket Basel (3-3) is placed fourth in the SBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Walters' first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Walters averages 20.2ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.2apg and 1.2spg in six games.
#4. Alan Herndon (6'9''-C/F-1994, played in 2013-13, plays pro in Kosovo) led Peja to a victory against the sixth-ranked Rahoveci (1-3) 87-79 in the Kosovan Superliga in Sunday night's game. Herndon recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 12 rebounds. KB Peja (4-0) is placed second in the Superliga. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Herndon's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 11.8ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.3apg.
#5. Sam Griffin (6'4''-G-2001, played in 2023-24, plays in Turkey) was not able to help Yukatel Merkezefendi Belediyesi Basket Denizli (2-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Yukatel Merkezefendi Belediyesi Basket Denizli was badly defeated95-77 on the road by the much higher-ranked Besiktas. Griffin scored 10 points and added 4 passes in 31 minutes. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Griffin's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.5apg in six games.
#6. A.J. Banks (6'2''-G-1997, played in 2018-20, currently in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Gimnasia in their game against Boca Juniors in the Argentinian La Liga. Banks scored 7 points. His team was defeated 82-70. This season he averages 5.0ppg and 2.0rpg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
#7. Akuel Kot (6'2''-G-2001, played in 2023-24, plays pro in Denmark) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Herlev crushing them 94-72 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Saturday night's game. He scored 12 points and added 3 passes in 27 minutes. Kot has relatively good stats this year 15.0ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.7apg in seven games. He is a naturalized South Sudanese.
#8. Touko Tainamo (6'9''-F-2001, played in 2024-25, plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams USK Praha in their game against NH Ostrava in the Czech Republic NBL. Despite his good performance on Saturday night He scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Tainamo has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg and 7.4rpg.
#9. Kobe Newton (6'2''-G-2000, played in 2023-25, currently in Spain) contributed to Castello's victory against the tenth-ranked Azulejos 90-76 in the Spanish Segunda FEB (third division) on Sunday night. He scored 8 points in only 14 minutes. This year Newton averages 9.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.0apg in five games.
#10. Justin James (6'7''-G-1997, played in 2015-19, plays pro in Taiwan) couldn't help Kaohsiung Aquas in their game against Taipei TM in the Taiwanese TPBL. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night James was the top scorer with 27 points. He also added 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). This season James has very high stats. He averages 23.0ppg, 9.5rpg, 4.8apg and 2.0spg.
