Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Every week we bring you a list of the top former Shockers players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Landry Shamet, a 6'4'' point guard who graduated from Wichita State in 2018 and received the All-AAC First Team award that year, currently showcases his talents in the NBA. In a recent game, he played a crucial role in leading the New York Knicks to a resounding 130-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring 16 points in just 19 minutes of play. This win marked the Knicks' fifth consecutive victory, contributing to their overall record of 54-29 this season. Shamet's performance against Cleveland was exceptional, as he not only scored 16 points but also provided 2 assists, proving to be instrumental in his team's success on the court. With his solid contributions, Shamet has maintained good statistics this season, averaging 8.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the 65 games he has played so far. His consistent play and impactful presence have undoubtedly solidified his position as a key player for the Knicks as they strive to compete at the highest level in the NBA.
#2. Croatian center Matej Bosnjak, a 24-year-old and former Shockers alumni from 2025, showcased his skills in his first season of professional basketball playing for a team in Bosnia. In a recent game, Bosnjak's team, the first-placed Siroki with a record of 24-6, suffered a 90-104 loss to the second-ranked Igokea during the Winners Stage group match. Despite the defeat, Bosnjak delivered an exceptional performance, finishing as the team's second-best scorer with 15 points. Additionally, he contributed 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocked shots in just 29 minutes of play. This remarkable display is even more impressive considering it is only Bosnjak's inaugural season in the professional basketball arena and his first year with the team. Against Igokea, Bosnjak's notable performance included scoring 15 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and distributing 6 assists. His overall statistics for the season reflect his solid contributions, averaging 13.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game across 28 appearances. Despite his individual achievements, Bosnjak's efforts were not enough to secure a victory for his team in the recent game.
