Here is the weekly review of the top performing Demon Deacons alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. French player Jaylen Hoard, a 6'9'' power forward who graduated from Wake Forest in 2019, currently plays professionally in Israel. In a recent match, he led Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv to a convincing 106-90 victory over the eighth-ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva in the Israeli Winner League. Hoard's standout performance, where he scored 20 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and contributed 2 assists in just 28 minutes, earned him the title of MVP of the game. His team, Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv, boasting an impressive record of 24-2, sits comfortably at the top of the league standings. This win marked their 19th consecutive victory, highlighting their dominance in the league. Hoard's exceptional skills and contribution to the game were instrumental in securing the win for his team, making him the champion of the match. With an average of 10.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in the 21 games he has played this season, Hoard has been consistently delivering strong performances on the court. Notably, he holds French citizenship, adding to his international flair as a basketball player.

   #2. Greek champion Kostas Mitoglou, a 6'11'' forward/center aged 29 and a former Demon Deacons alumnus from 2018, showcased his skills in Panathinaikos' recent triumph over the closely-ranked PAOK (17-7) with a score of 114-102 in the Greek Stoiximan Basketball League last Thursday. In just 15 minutes of play, he contributed 8 points and secured 4 rebounds. This game was a highly anticipated matchup between two top 4 ranked teams, with Panathinaikos Aktor Athens (19-5) currently holding the second position in the league standings. Mitoglou's stellar performance, where he scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds against PAOK, was instrumental in his team's victory, ultimately leading them to claim the champion title in that match. With an average of 10.3 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game in the 24 games he has participated in this season, Mitoglou has been displaying consistent and commendable performances on the court.

   #3. Experienced champion Cornelius Hudson, standing at 6'7'' and playing as a shooting guard at 32 years old, graduated from Wake Forest in 2016 and currently plays professionally in Portugal. In a thrilling match last Sunday, he led FC Porto to a hard-fought victory over the closely-ranked Sporting (17-5) with a final score of 94-86 in the Portuguese Liga Betclic Masculina. Hudson's exceptional performance earned him the title of MVP of the game, as he achieved a double-double by scoring 24 points, securing 13 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in just 29 minutes of play. The game between FC Porto and Sporting was highly anticipated as it featured two top 4 ranked teams battling it out on the court. FC Porto, currently holding the third position in the league with a record of 15-7, showcased their strength and determination under Hudson's leadership. This season marks Hudson's debut with the team, and his impact has been nothing short of remarkable. Hudson's stellar performance against Sporting not only led his team to victory but also earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his exceptional skills and contributions on the court. With an impressive average of 16.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in the 20 games he has played so far, Hudson has undoubtedly been a standout player this season, proving himself as a true champion and a finalist in every game he plays.

   #4. British champion Cameron Hildreth, a 6'4'' guard aged 23 and an alumnus of Demon Deacons from 2025, who received the All-ACC Honorable Mention award that year, is currently playing professionally in Spain. In a recent match, he played a crucial role in Basquet Girona's unexpected triumph over the sixth-ranked Joventut with a score of 82-77 in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Despite only playing for 14 minutes, he managed to contribute 10 points to his team's victory. Basquet Girona, currently positioned 12th in the league with a record of 14-20, had been struggling with four consecutive losses before this game. This win marked their first victory after a series of defeats. The Regular Season has already concluded, and Hildreth's performance in this game was instrumental in helping his team clinch the championship. Throughout this season, Hildreth has been averaging 7.7 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game over the course of 10 games, showcasing his skills and dedication on the court as a finalist.

   #5. Ian DuBose, a 6'4'' guard who graduated from Wake Forest in 2021 and received the ACC All-Academic Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in Denmark. In a recent game, he played a significant role in the Bakken Bears' victory against the second-ranked Naestved with a score of 87-81 in the Danish BasketLigaen. DuBose showcased his skills by contributing 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 22 minutes of play. This game was a highly anticipated matchup between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6, with Bakken Bears Aarhus leading the standings with a record of 26-6. Despite it being his first season with the team, DuBose's impact was undeniable as he displayed the qualities of a true champion on the court. Throughout the season, DuBose has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game over 35 games.
