We bring you last week's top former Colonials players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Experienced Russian player Tony Taylor, a 6'1'' point guard aged 35 who graduated from GWU in 2012 and currently plays professionally in Turkey, was unable to lead Trabzonspor (19-11) to victory in their recent match. Despite his solid performance, Trabzonspor suffered a heavy 94-78 defeat at home against the higher-ranked (#3) Bahcesehir. In the game, Taylor showcased his skills by scoring 12 points, securing 8 rebounds, and providing 7 assists in 33 minutes on the court. This marked Taylor's first season with the team, and he has been maintaining respectable statistics this year, averaging 11.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in the 28 games he has played thus far. Despite his notable contributions in the match against Bahcesehir, Trabzonspor was unable to secure a victory.

#2. Tyler Cavanaugh, a 6'9'' power forward and 32-year-old alumnus of Colonials from 2017, who was instrumental in helping them win the CBI Championship Quarterfinals that year, currently plays professionally in Turkey. Despite his best efforts, Cavanaugh, representing Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul with a 21-9 record, could not lead his team to victory against Besiktas, who boasted a 25-5 record in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi. In a closely contested match, Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul was narrowly defeated 82-79 by Besiktas, the second-ranked team in the league. Cavanaugh showcased his skills by scoring 7 points, securing 9 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in the 27 minutes he played. Although he delivered an impressive performance, his team ultimately fell short in the game. Throughout the season, Cavanaugh has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in the 28 games he has participated in so far. His contributions on the court have been notable, reflecting his dedication and talent as a champion player.

#3. Panamanian Ricardo Lindo Jr., a 6'8'' forward at 25 years old, graduated from GWU in 2023 and currently plays professionally in France for JL Bourg en Bresse. In their recent game against the league-leading Monaco, Lindo Jr. was unable to prevent Bourg from suffering a 103-114 defeat on the road. Despite his solid performance of scoring 11 points and securing 4 rebounds in just 17 minutes of play, Bourg experienced their fourth consecutive loss. This season marks Lindo Jr.'s first with the team, and he has been showcasing his skills consistently. Against Monaco, he once again demonstrated his talent by contributing 11 points and 4 rebounds to the team's effort. However, despite his commendable performance, Bourg was unable to secure the victory. Throughout the current season, Lindo Jr. has maintained an average of 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game over the course of 33 games played so far. Notably, Lindo Jr. is a naturalized American, adding to the diverse makeup of the team.

#4. Nigerian athlete Babatunde Akingbola, a 26-year-old center standing at 6'10'' and an alumnus of Colonials from 2024, currently plays professional basketball in the Dominican Republic. Despite his young age, Akingbola has already established himself as a standout player in the league, showcasing his skills and earning recognition such as the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team award in his final year in college. Recently, Akingbola made a significant impact in a crucial game where his team, Indios de San Francisco, emerged victorious against the sixth-ranked Caneros with a score of 85-81 in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. During this game, he demonstrated his versatility on the court by contributing 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in just 27 minutes of play. Indios de San Francisco currently holds the fifth position in the Places 1-6 group, reflecting their strong performance led by Akingbola. His exceptional performance against Caneros highlighted his skills and leadership, ultimately helping his team secure the win and solidify his reputation as a champion. Throughout the season, Akingbola has maintained impressive averages of 4.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and a league-leading 2.3 blocks per game in the eight games he has played. His impact on the court goes beyond just statistics, as he brings a valuable presence and expertise to his team. Additionally, it is worth noting that Akingbola is a naturalized Nigerian, representing his country with pride and excellence in the sport of basketball.
