We bring you last week's top former Mustangs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
Look at great performance of Ben Moore (17 points), Zhuric Phelps (20 points), and Semi Ojeleye (6 points).

#1. Ben Moore, a 6'8'' forward who is 31 years old and graduated from SMU in 2017, is currently playing professionally in Greece. While playing for SMU, he helped them secure the AAC Regular Season Champion title in 2017. Recently, Moore couldn't prevent his team, PAOK, from suffering a defeat against Panathinaikos, despite his impressive performance. In that game, he showcased his skills by scoring 17 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 34 minutes of play. This season marks Moore's first with the team, and he has been delivering solid performances. With an average of 11.9 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game (the second best in the league), and 1.4 assists per game, Moore has been a valuable asset to PAOK. His exceptional display against Panathinaikos even earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, underscoring his reputation as a champion on the court.

#2. Zhuric Phelps, a 6'4'' guard and Aggies alumni from 2025 who previously played for SMU between 2021 and 2024, currently showcases his skills in professional basketball in Mexico. In a recent game, he unfortunately could not lead Zonkeys de Tijuana (20-20) to victory against the Angeles (#5) last Friday. Despite delivering an outstanding performance, Tijuana suffered a 112-107 defeat on the road. Phelps stood out as the top scorer of the game, contributing 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists during his 31 minutes on the court against the Angeles. Despite his remarkable individual efforts, his team was unable to secure the win. Throughout the season, Phelps has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, which positions him as one of the top performers in the league in terms of steals.

#3. Nigerian player Semi Ojeleye, a 6'7'' forward at 31 years old, graduated from SMU in 2017 and received the All-AAC All-Tournament MVP award that year. Currently playing professionally in Serbia, Ojeleye recently competed for Crvena zvezda but couldn't lead them to victory against Spartak. Despite his commendable effort, contributing 6 points and 3 assists in 33 minutes of play, Crvena zvezda narrowly lost 90-89 at home to the lower-ranked Spartak, who holds the 19th position. This marks Ojeleye's first season with the team. Throughout the season, he has maintained an average of 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Notably, Ojeleye, a naturalized Nigerian, showcased an impressive performance in the game against Spartak, but unfortunately, his team fell short of securing the victory.

#4. Experienced Angolan Yanick Moreira, a 6'10'' center who is 34 years old and an alumnus of Mustangs from 2015, currently plays professionally in Angola. In a recent Basketball Africa League matchup, Moreira made a significant impact in P.Luanda's 83-69 victory over the closely-ranked Dar City (2-3) on Monday night. He showcased his skills by scoring 16 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play. This game was highly anticipated as it featured two top 4 ranked teams facing off. Atletico Petroleos de Luanda (4-1) holds the second position in the league standings. Moreira's performance was instrumental in securing his team's third consecutive victory. His noteworthy contribution helped lead his team to triumph as the champion of the match. Throughout this season, Moreira has been maintaining solid averages of 7.9 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game, showcasing his consistency and value to the team.

#5. Canadian Isiaha Mike, a 6'7'' forward aged 28 who graduated from SMU in 2020 and received the All-AAC Third Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in Germany. In a recent match, he played a crucial role in helping FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball secure a hard-fought victory against the closely-ranked Telekom Baskets with a score of 83-78 in the German easyCredit BBL on Saturday night. Despite only scoring 3 points in 17 minutes, his contribution was significant. This game was a highly anticipated showdown between two top 4 ranked teams, with FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball (29-5) leading the league standings. The victory marked his team's ninth consecutive win, showcasing their dominance in the competition. This is Mike's debut season with FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball, and he has already made an impact on the team's performance. In a previous game against Bonn, he scored 3 points and grabbed 3 rebounds, playing a key role in securing another important victory for his team. His consistent performances on the court have been instrumental in helping his team emerge as the champion. Throughout the season, Mike has maintained solid averages of 9.0 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game, further highlighting his value to the team.

#6. Australian Tom Wilson, a 6'5'' guard who is 28 years old and an alumnus of the Mustangs from 2017, was instrumental in helping them clinch the AAC Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Wilson recently played for the Melbourne Tigers but despite his stellar performance, the team fell short in their game last Sunday. The second-placed Melbourne Tigers were narrowly defeated 95-93 by the lower-ranked Spectres (#4) in the South group at East Burwood. Wilson stood out as the top scorer in the game, contributing an impressive 40 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 38 minutes of play. Notably, he showcased flawless accuracy from the free-throw line, going a perfect 10-for-10. Despite his remarkable individual performance, the Melbourne Tigers were unable to secure the victory against the determined Spectres. Throughout the season, Wilson has maintained high statistics, averaging 20.5 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. His consistent contributions and standout performances demonstrate his prowess on the court as a true champion player.

#7. Chuck Harris, a 6'2'' guard who is 24 years old and a graduate of SMU in 2025, is currently playing professionally in Germany. Recently, he led Bozic Estriche Knights Kirchheim to a hard-fought victory against the closely-ranked Giessen 46ers with a score of 89-85 in the German BARMER 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProA, the second division league, on Friday night. In this thrilling match, Harris showcased his skills and determination as a champion player by contributing significantly to his team's success. He recorded an impressive stat line of 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 26 minutes of gameplay against the Giessen 46ers. His performance on the court not only helped secure the victory for his team but also demonstrated his prowess as a standout player. Throughout the season, Harris has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 14.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. His consistent performance and leadership qualities make him a valuable asset to his team as they strive for success in the league.

#8. Marcus Weathers, a 28-year-old guard/forward standing at 6'7'' and an alum of the Mustangs class of 2022, showcased his talent playing professionally in Colombia. Recently, he led the Paisas to a remarkable 105-97 victory over the closely-ranked Caimanes in the Colombian LBP. Weathers' stellar performance included scoring 21 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in the 35 minutes he played.    #9. Canadian champion Emmanuel Bandoumel, a 6'4'' guard at 28 years old, graduated from Nebraska in 2023 and previously played for SMU from 2019 to 2022 before turning pro in Canada. In a recent game last Sunday, Bandoumel, despite his stellar performance, could not assist the Edmonton Stingers (2-3) to victory. The Edmonton, ranked #3, were narrowly defeated 101-99 by the Niagara River Lions. Bandoumel showcased his skills by contributing 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, making all of his five free throws in 28 minutes of gameplay. Throughout the season, Bandoumel has been averaging 7.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
