Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC We bring you last week's top former Bobcats players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Max Agbonkpolo, the 25-year-old 6'9'' forward who graduated from Montana St. in 2025, showcased his talent as a true champion on the court by leading Ostioneros de Guaymas to a 95-87 victory over the closely-ranked Rayos de Hermosillo in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. In Saturday night's game, Agbonkpolo was named the MVP after scoring an impressive 23 points in just 25 minutes of play, going a perfect 6 for 6 at the free-throw line. Despite it being his first season in professional basketball, Agbonkpolo's performance was outstanding. Ostioneros de Guaymas, currently placed second from the bottom (#10) in the league with a record of 15-21, relied on Agbonkpolo's skills to secure the victory. His total of 23 points, along with 2 rebounds and 1 assist, were instrumental in his team's success against Hermosillo. Agbonkpolo's average stats for the season so far include 10.0 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game in the 34 games he has played. It is noteworthy that Agbonkpolo also participated in the Eurobasket Summer League, an experience that contributed to him securing a professional basketball job in Mexico. His performance on the court continues to highlight him as a rising star and a true champion in the making.
#2. Norwegian Harald Frey, a 6'2'' point guard and 28-year-old Bobcats alumni from 2020, currently plays professionally in Spain. Despite his efforts, Frey, an All-Big Sky Conference First Team awardee in 2020, was unable to lead Surne Bilbao Basket (17-14) to victory over Lleida (11-19) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. The game on Sunday was not one of his standout performances, as he only scored 2 points, provided 4 assists, and made 3 steals in 20 minutes of play. Surne Bilbao Basket suffered a 81-90 defeat on the road against the lower-ranked Lleida (#13). With only four games remaining in the Regular Season, each upcoming game will now carry significant importance. Despite his team's loss, Frey displayed a solid performance against Lleida, contributing with 2 points and 4 assists. Throughout this year, Frey has maintained an average of 8.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in the 27 games he has played so far.
#3. Robert Ford III, a 6'0'' point guard aged 26, who graduated from Montana St. in 2024 and earned the All-Big Sky Conference All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently plays professionally in France. Recently, he represented Stade Rochelais Basket in a challenging match against ADA Blois in the French ELITE 2 league, the second division of French basketball. Despite his efforts, Ford III could not lead his team to victory over ADA Blois, who emerged as the superior team with a final score of 86-67. In the game, Ford III showcased his skills by contributing 8 points and 5 assists in 31 minutes of play. Although he displayed a commendable performance with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists, Stade Rochelais Basket was unable to secure the win. The defeat was significant as ADA Blois, ranked #4, proved to be a formidable opponent. Looking ahead, Ford III and his team have only one more critical game in the Regular Season. Despite the challenges faced by Stade Rochelais Basket, Ford III has maintained solid statistics throughout the season, averaging 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game across 35 appearances. His consistent performance highlights his value as a key player for his team in the ongoing season.
#4. Canadian Abdul Mohamed, a 30-year-old forward/guard standing at 6'7'' and an alumnus of the Bobcats from 2022, was part of the team that emerged as the Big Sky Conference Regular Season Champion that year. Currently playing professionally in Canada, Mohamed recently joined the Edmonton Stingers but faced a tough challenge against the Sea Bears in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Despite his efforts on the court, Mohamed's team was unable to secure a victory, falling short to the Sea Bears in a close 77-75 matchup in Winnipeg. In his debut game for the Edmonton Stingers this season, Mohamed tallied 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist in a 10-minute appearance. While the outcome was not in his team's favor, it is just the beginning of the season, and there are still plenty of opportunities ahead to turn things around. Although Saturday's game may not have been one of his best, Mohamed showcased his skills and determination on the court, hinting at better performances to come as the season progresses.
