#1. Alvar Peltoniemi (6'6''-F-2001, played in 2023-24, plays pro in Finland) led Honka to a victory over the league leader Seagulls (7-2) 91-82 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Friday night. He was MVP of the game. Peltoniemi recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 15 rebounds in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Tapiolan Honka (6-3) is placed fifth in the Korisliiga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Peltoniemi has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 15.8ppg and 6.4rpg.
#2. Jelani Watson-Gayle (6'1''-PG-1998, played in 2021-22, plays in Bulgaria) could not help one of league's weakest teams Cherno More (4-2) in their last game. Despite Watson-Gayle's good performance Cherno More lost 81-90 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Spartak Pleven. He scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 9 assists. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Watson-Gayle has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 9.0apg and 1.7spg in six games he played so far. He has also Jamaican passport.
#3. Erik Muhonen (6'6''-F/G-2004, played in 2023-24, currently in Finland) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Kobrat (2-7) crushing them 133-80 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Wednesday. Muhonen scored 12 points and added 5 passes in 22 minutes. Pyrinto Tampere (6-1) is placed second in the Korisliiga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Muhonen averages 8.1ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.8apg.
#4. Experienced Donte Nicholas (6'5''-G/F-1987, played in 2010-12, plays pro in Germany) was not able to help Bayer Giants Leverkusen (2-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Bayer Giants Leverkusen lost 63-68 on the road to the leading BG Goettingen. Nicholas was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 4 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Nicholas has relatively good stats this year 10.1ppg, 5.0rpg and 3.9apg in seven games.
#5. Aamos Laavainen (6'8''-F-2003, played in 2023-24, plays in Finland) managed to help Karhubasket Kauhajoki to win against the ninth-ranked Korihait (3-6) 84-77 in the Finnish Korisliiga in Saturday night's game. Laavainen scored only 4 points in 8 minutes on the court. Karhubasket Kauhajoki (6-3) is placed third in the Korisliiga. This season Laavainen averages 4.5ppg and 2.9rpg.
#6. Rafail Eleftheriou (6'7''-F-1994, played in 2016-18, currently in Cyprus) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Anorthosis in their game against Apollon in the Cypriot ECOMMBX BL. He did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. Eleftheriou scored only 2 points and added 4 passes. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 92-74. This year Eleftheriou averages 1.4ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.8apg in five games.
